Fast bowler Mohammad Amir says Pakistan are more than capable of beating India ahead of their much-anticipated World Cup encounter.

Pakistan, currently joint-sixth in the World Cup table, face in-form India at Old Trafford on Sunday.

After Wednesdays defeat to Australia in Taunton, Pakistan cannot afford too many more slip-ups as they bid to reach the knockout stages of the tournament.

Looking ahead to Sundays clash with arch-rivals India, Amir said: All games are pressure games in the World Cup, same for India.

Well have to come with a positive mindset against India. We have to win every game now and well try our best.

Definitely, we can beat India. Today also our batting took the game deep. If were a bit more mentally strong, inshaAllah we will win.

Opening batsman Imam-ul-Haq has impressed during the early stages of the tournament, scoring a half-century against Australia and 44 against England after failing in Pakistans opening defeat to West Indies.

Asked whether Pakistans match with India was a must-win affair, Imam said: Yes, weve had one game rained off which was very important for us – every game now is very important for us, so yes you can say that.
