Girl, 10 hits out at comedian who told her to eat her wheelchair-bound pet chicken
A 10 year-old girl has condemned a TV comedian who told her to eat her wheelchair-bound pet chicken.
Alora Wood, from Vermont, was appalled to hear of the fake news report on comedy show Saturday Night Live about her pets new mobility aid, which ended with the host Colin Jost joking just eat the chicken.
She told NBC4: Be a little bit more sensitive – it felt kind of rude to me.
I know it was meant to be a joke, but what if it was a dog…would you put your pet on a plate?
The fourth-grader added: Any creature, no matter how big, no matter how small, they deserve to have a perfect life.
Her bird, named Granite Heart, was born with a deformed foot.
But Alora decided to try and give the chicken a new lease of life by commissioning a custom wheelchair from Walkin Pets in New Hampshire.
The company creates mobility aids for special needs animals like hers.
