Arsene Wenger identifies imbalance in his Arsenal side after Newcastle defeat
The 2-1 defeat at St James Park was the latest defeat on the road for the Gunners.
They have failed to collect a single point from away matches this year – a run of five straight losses. Its their worst run in Premier League history with the last time they lost five away games on the bounce coming in 1984.
After the game, Wenger pointed to his sides involvement in the Europa League in which they played CSKA Moscow in Russia on Thursday. The Frenchman also admitted there is an imbalance between offence and defence in his team.
I think its very difficult to combine the Europa League on Thursday night and then playing Sunday morning. You play in Moscow, you come home, you play again away from home.
This game is a bit special. On top of that, I must say the attitude of our team was spot on from the start.
But it didnt work and I have to be realistic enough to say that maybe our balance offensively and defensively doesnt work.

On his sides dreadful away form, Wenger added: Of course its a concern because traditionally we have a very strong record away from home.
It has a subconscious weight in our minds. Once youre in a negative spiral like that, its very difficult to get out.
